OBSESSED

with One Hundred Dollars these days. I do have a small confession to make though.

What a bunch of fuckin' babes and all around good folk!

I burnt their most recent album Songs of Man from CFCR and hardly listened to it cuz I didn't really care for it at first. In fact, I may or may not have referred to their album as a "snoozefest". Wellwellwell, was I ever wrong! I had the great pleasure of seeing them twice this past Halloween weekend and can't stop listening and internet stalking them. Simone, the lead singer, is such an enigma to me and I'm totally crushin' hard.

Oh yeah, they're playing with the Seahags in Bruno on November 9th, 2011, on their way back to Toronto. Do you think it's excessive and creepy for me to drive all the way to Bruno to see them again? I can just use the Seahags as an excuse, right?

If You Liked It Then/Than You Should Have Put A Ring On It

Unless you have a really good excuse, you should come to Amigos tomorrow (Thursday March 24th, 2011) night for the Diamond Rings and PS I Love You show. If you don't, you're a fool. Just sayin'.

Cunt Sleep

Tomorrow I have a friendly date with Thirza. We're going to eat fried chicken, visit the site in which Joni Mitchell lost her virginity, and hunt for UFOs. I'm totally looking forward to our adventure filled journey. If we're not too spooked or tired, perhaps we can even fit the Feral Children and Women show into our agenda too. It is after all in support of CFCR's FM-phasis.

NASA's Alien Anomalies caught on film.

Before she was Joni Mitchell she was Joni Anderson.

Feral Children - My Soul is a Disco (mp3)

Women - Eyesore (mp3)

Daniel, Fred, and Julie

Tonight at Amigos Cantina!

Daniel, Fred, and Julie is a very special collaboration between three much loved musicians. Daniel Romano sings and plays guitar in Attack in Black. Calm Down It’s Monday’s Fred Squire sang and played guitar in legendary indie-rock group Shotgun and Jaybird, and is a jack-of-all-trades and master of some in the Julie Doiron band. And Julie Doiron is the legendary songwriter, singer, guitar shredder, collaborator with Mount Eerie, Gord Downie, Herman Dune, Wooden Stars, and member of Eric’s Trip, who needs no introduction.

BURP

Another day, another post. I'm at the point where I feel like I'm squeezing the last bit of 'juice' I have left. I've become less of a home body recently and find myself either at the gym, playing soccer, going for expensive coffee, or getting drunk. Ever since my social awakening I've been neglecting more of the domestic duties that make me feel accomplished. In my experience, it's one or the other. I'm looking for the perfect antidote that will allow me to have my cake and eat it too. It's coming, and I think I'm closer than ever before. I haven't invested much time in making music or art lately which is a tad upsetting. I often use Monday as the day that I will get back on track. Unfortunately, I haven't found the track yet. I sure do like to dream though. That said, I've definitely come to realize that I am a creature of habit, who appreciates a regimented schedule. This Monday I will get back on track.

The middle era of my band 7=5.

And on a completely different note, my friend Lief is a touring member of the Hidden Cameras right now, and I'm pretty pumped for their stop in Saskatoon. The details for that show are:

Sunday, November 29th, 2009 at 22:00
With Gentelman Reg
Amigos Cantina - Corner of 10th and Dufferin, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Once Lief returns we're starting a skipping league. :) Hot queers with matching outfits and slutty cheers, what could be better?!

p.s. Spicy perogies and beer are evil when consumed together.
