Vive is moving again! After a great year of quality shows at Jale
(Caffe Sola), Vive is leaving for greener pastures. The cafe requires more space for their growing business and is expanding throughout the upper level of the building. The current Jale space will no
longer be available to Vive as of the beginning of September.

This has given Vive the opportunity to further explore performance
space options in Saskatoon. We are re-grouping now and planning to
re-emerge with a new physical space in the spring of 2012.

To fund the move, storage, and help us towards the next phase (Vive
3.0), we are hosting a Vive fundraiser slash grand closing party on
Sat September 3rd, 2011 @ Jale.

Vive will continue hosting shows through the fall and winter at the
Roxy Theatre, Walker's, the two-twenty, and even a few house shows. The Jale move will not affect vf4 (planning is underway).

Thanks for your support and dedication to Saskatoon's music
scene and to Vive music.

Cunt Sleep

Tomorrow I have a friendly date with Thirza. We're going to eat fried chicken, visit the site in which Joni Mitchell lost her virginity, and hunt for UFOs. I'm totally looking forward to our adventure filled journey. If we're not too spooked or tired, perhaps we can even fit the Feral Children and Women show into our agenda too. It is after all in support of CFCR's FM-phasis.

NASA's Alien Anomalies caught on film.

Before she was Joni Mitchell she was Joni Anderson.

Sonic Youth - Hey Joni (mp3)

Feral Children - My Soul is a Disco (mp3)

Women - Eyesore (mp3)

Feral Children

I may not live in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, but Saskatoon has it's fair share of gems. I'm really excited about the release by my good friend Ryan Davidson, aka Feral Children. 'Currents', his latest album, is labeled by many as a collection of psychedelic, drum machine pop. Amen to that!

For some free mp3s, check him out on Weird Canada.
