I was over at YoungCreature and discovered a new online queer art journal/gallery called PRAYERS FOR CHILDREN. The first issue INITIATION is fanatasic, and features a few drawings by Zachari Logan.

Two other notable queer artists from Saskatoon are Megan Morman and Cindy Baker. They are married (to each other) and are quite the 'ultimate power duo'(cheesy Saskatoon reference). I don't know a lot about them, but am totally intrigued by them and their art practises. Megan does some nice cross stitching, and Cindy has a mascot of herself. That I do know.

Zachari Logan

Zachari Logan is a 29 year old artist from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who uses his own body as subject exclusively. Logan engages personal narratives that question historic masculine tropes, which continue to inform and shape contemporary male identity. Logan's narratives, situated within Neo-classical, Renaissance and Baroque styles, utilize themes of male bravado, heroism and narcissism often found in historic genre paintings. With these various themes, Logan juxtaposes the mundane realities of contemporary life using common-place costuming and props. Logan is interested in creating self-anxious queer narratives which contextualize marginalized male identities within the canon of visual art.
